Ayahuasca is the commonly used name to describe a tea made from a combination of sacred plants and has been used traditionally across the Amazon basin in South America including Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, and Ecuador continuously for thousands of years, and is still used today by many indigenous tribes.
The word “Ayahuasca” is a composite of two Quechua word: "aya" meaning spirit, soul or ancestor and "huasca" meaning vine or rope. It is known as "the vine of souls".
Purpose of Ayahuasca
Ayahuasca is an ancestral plant medicine that can heal physical and spiritual aspects of our existence.
It connects us with the collective ancestral memories helping us to remember what we have forgotten, displaying wisdom and intelligence teaching and guiding people into deep, spiritual insights about the nature of reality, the universe and our existence within the material world.
Ayahuasca is not a 'drug' that is taken recreationally for entertainment, relaxation or amusement. The purpose of drinking Ayahuasca is to receive healing, insights and guidance.
The Ayahuasca ceremonies cleanse, purify and detoxify the physical and energetic body and mind, as well as the spiritual dimensions of our existence releasing emotional blockages, and healing past traumas. It helps bring us to the Light of Consciousness, expanding our hearts and opening our eyes to Divine consciousness.
The medicine often reveals aspects of your past, reflections of your childhood, experiences in your life that may have caused you pain. I may reveal ways you could have made better choices, sometimes providing profound knowledge about your place in the universe. It can provide knowledge and connection with the plant and animal kingdoms, perhaps even revealing life in other dimensions and galaxies.
Ayahuasca can be the beginning of a process of profound personal and spiritual discovery and transformation. This process can continue, even if one never drinks Ayahuasca again.
Healing with Ayahuasca and the plant spiritual properties is a journey and not particular event. The sacred medicine can help us open the "doors of wisdom", but what we do with these insights are entirely our own decision. We still have to do our homework by ourselves. True healing with Ayahuasca requires courage to face our fears, determination, perseverance, strong will and commitment to your healing journey.
