Working with Ayahuasca and Huachuma also involves following a special diet which serves to create the optimal conditions for returning a natural equilibrium to the body, mind and spirit and preparing your body to incorporate the healing energy of the brew.
The participants can obtain more benefits following a diet that will help them to purify the physical body and reach out effective journey during the ceremonies. The dieta will also stimulate the body's innate ability to self-heal.
It is suggested that the participant begin to cut down on sugars, salts, dairy, greasy, spicy and fermented foods at least two days before the ceremony.
Avoid canned food, red meat and pork one week before the retreat.
Do not take any medical prescription (natural or otherwise), drugs, antibiotics, injections, pills, supplement, vitamins or others.
Alcohol should be eliminated one week before and after the retreat.
It is recommended that you abstain from have sex or masturbating a day before the retreat. It could drain your level of energy necessary to connect with the Medicine Plant.
It is suggested that the women who are menstruating or pregnant abstain from participating. Period pain could perturbe your experience while journeying with Ayahuasca and Huachuma. However, if you do not experience sever pain it is ok you can participate.
During the retreat, we will be eating fresh and local food based in the Aymara diet : vegetables, fruits, quinua, dried potatoes, corn, rice, and herbal teas. Chicken and fish will be served for the non-vegeterians. Please let us know in advance if you are or not vegeterian.
The day of the ceremony we will have our breakfast and vegetarian lunch. No food after 16:00 until the breakfast of the next day. Please avoid coffee, black or green tee (no caffeine) dairy and sweet pastry. Drink only water or herbal tea after lunch.
